"Erosion" by Angela Porter fusing fashion illustration and landscape...'metro ladies' series
"Erosion" by Angela Porter
12" x 24" (inches) Acrylic & Ink on canvas
This painting from the metro ladies series is working with fusing modern fashion illustration and fashion design ideas with historical landscape references. These works explore social media imagery that reflect upon and critique today's retail and online environment; they are fictional characters seeking identity and divination of the soul entwined in the nature of changing digital ‘landscapes’. The mixed media canvas pieces can be identified as a series, and she partners well with 'Shining'. I love the bold, bright and engaging immersion into their world when you see them together.
Angela received her Bachelor of Fine Arts (Honours) from York University. A successful artist she started receiving awards for her work at the age of only ten and continues to receive numerous private and corporate commissions. Angela is the great granddaughter of Bertram Brooker who is one of Canada’s first abstract painters and the winner of a Governor General Literary Award.
